Park at Westminster Book Club by Robert Raker author of ENTROPY

The apartment complex that I reside in recently started a book club. In their second month, the decision was made to read my novel, Entropy. They chose it because I was local and they enjoyed the idea of being able to discuss the novel with the author present. It was the first time that I was able to speak to a room full of people that I knew had read Entropy. Much of the conversation about the book revolved around…

ENTROPY by Robert Raker Chapter: The Musician

I enjoy music and find myself listening to various artists when I write. I liked the idea of writing from a musician’s perspective. We meet the musician after his life has drastically changed; he is involved in an accident that leaves him disabled and in his mind, disfigured. The effects of this incident damage his ability to communicate and impact his marriage as he struggles to come to grips with the accident and his new life. If you enjoy crime…

ENTROPY by Robert Raker Chapter: The Diver

The water inspired the story for the diver. The diver finds himself in an isolated small town with limited opportunities and is confronted by the brutality of what is happening around him when he is forced to retrieve dead bodies. The diver finds himself more involved in the process of these crime scenes than he would like and is confronted both physically and emotionally as the story unfolds … Robert Raker says "I had always wanted to write from the…

Entropy, update… by Robert Raker, author

In preparing preparatory work on another novel, I usually file away previous research and clean out the audio recorded notes I used. In listening to portions of those that I made for Entropy, I realized how far the original idea I imagined had come. The concept of a series of heinous crimes against children, hovering over a small town was something that I had always intended. The four central characters, The Diver, The Musician, The Agent and The Model, were…

On September 27th, 2015 I had the opportunity to attend the annual Baltimore Book Festival held at the Inner Harbor in Maryland. The three day festival, which included authors, musicians, ethnic foods and other forms of pop culture was well attended. The weather was beautiful and the atmosphere surrounding the harbor and its’ many attractions was stunning. Along with other authors from various genres, I was able to engage with avid readers, introduce them to ENTROPY and even read selected…

If you have not had a chance to download the book or purchase…

Christmas Village, Love Park, Philadelphia – Entropy reading!

On December 10th, 2014 I attended an author reading (arranged by my publishers) at the Christmas Village Festival, Love Park in Philadelphia. I read excerpts from ENTROPY on the main stage, which presented each character and their connections to the crimes. With a wonderful holiday setting around me, I read passages from “The Diver” and “The Musician,” briefly discussing the synopsis of the book and where the inspiration came from. During a break, it was a real pleasure to engage…

Local Author Reading in Hatboro – October 22

On October 22nd, I attended a local author reading (arranged by my publishers) in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. Hatboro has a special place in my heart as I grew up there, so it was a pleasure to be able to attend a local event. I enjoyed talking to the audience about growing up in Hatboro, and how I drew on inspiration from the local surroundings. I read several sections from Entropy - which presented the characters and how their lives are affected…
